It all started in 2008 when Erika and Daniel were both working at Bed Bath & Beyond. Erika was sent to help out at Daniel's store for a week during "Back to College" where they were instantly attracted to each other. Unfortunately for Erika, Daniel was in a relationship at that time so nothing more than friendship came from their week of working together.

It wasn't until a year later that they reconnected via Facebook. After the first date, they knew they would mean something very special to each other for a long time. 

THE PROPOSAL 

A month before Daniel proposed he took Erika's dad aside and asked for his permission, the first thing he said was "about friggen time." So I guess that means he approved.

Daniel surprised Erika with a trip to Coronado Island in California – They have gone there various times and it has become a special place for them to visit. She didn't find out where they were going until they got to the gate terminal at the airport. On the second day of their trip Daniel took Erika to a fancy Italian Restaurant - Il Fornaio, which is a spot they go to every time they are in San Diego. Daniel spoke with the staff beforehand to have the ring come out with a plate of desserts (How could she say no?!). Of course she said yes!
